Our Nursery!

The nursery planning has begun!  It was hard to choose all of our itmes, but, we did it!  And, the crib is here, and the bedding is on the there is no going back now!

We are not really character people.  Not that there is anything wrong with pirates (except that I am terribly afraid of them), lions and tigers and bears (oh my!), they are just not our taste.  I have been searching for a bedding set that is not too baby, or too girly for hubby to like.  I finally found it!

Drumroll please....

I love the argyle print - I think it's preppy.

Changing Pad

These curtains come with the set, but I'm not sure if I am going to use them...

Or these.  What do you think would look better?

A lot of the sets I looked at did not have a hamper.  I love this one, and I am pretty sure that this little boy is going to make lots of dirty laundry!

I am not sure if we are going to use this mobile, or one with brighter colors.  Any ideas?

Here's the whole room.

I love this memo board, that way I can change out pictures and cards that all our sweet friends and family give to him.

I know it sounds silly, but this rug sold me on the whole set.  I LOVE rugs, and this one is just too cutie!

I think I will put his initials on you think that would be cute or silly?  What color fabric?

And now...for the furniture!  We shopped and shopped, and had a really hard time finding something in our budget that had decent reviews, and that we liked.  We wanted a convertible crib that we could turn into a real bed when he became ready.

The dresser

His crib.  I just love it!  I think it looks like a lyre, which is my sorority symbol.

I don't know if we need this smaller dresser might make his room cramped.  What do you think?  Will we need all that storage?

I love this piece.  It is a dresser and a changing table!  Genius!

Well, that's our plan for the room!  What do you think?

Cute stuff Michelle! I love the argyle print & the colors are so soothing! For baby's initals maybe use a brown or dark tan?
And I definitely like the curtains (striped) as opposed to the argyle. But I like to mix it up with stripes & patterns. How fun! And the furniture is beautiful! Have a blessed weekend!

Thanks so much ladies!!!!

Lisa, I appreciate the advice so much, and I think brown or dark tan would be perfect for the initials! I think you are right about the curtains - I'm worried there would be too much argyle if I used the others : )

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! I agree, the rug is the best part! :) I think brown would be cute for initials, a little darker than the tan. I'm stumped on the curtains, I like the argyle, but the long curtains with that pattern might be a bit much. I would like an argyle valance with solid blue curtains.

Super Cute! Where is your furniture from? the big dresser should be plenty. You're right For the curtians, I think that a solid would look best. You could use the fabric from the the valance (that comes with the set) to make a throw pillow for your rocker/glider (if you're doing one). Also... I don't think you'd need the small dresser also. The changing table +though... that Rug is super cute!!
Really cute stuff Michelle!

Super cute stuff!! I love the brown and baby blue and the furniture is gorge!

Total unsolicited advice about the mobile from a non-mom :) -- you may want to get a different mobile. This one is really cool...

You can change out the shapes so as the baby grows and is interested in different stimulation they can get that. No, it doesn't coordinate with the nursery as well :) but I hear babies love it.

Just food for thought!

Why is it so hard to pick out a nursery design? I've changed my mind at least 4 times. I love the argyle, and I think he can use it for years to come. I love the idea of putting initials on those panels. What about using solid tan or blue curtains so you don't get tired of the pattern? One of my mom friends told me to get light blocking ones that coordinate instead of the baby ones so that the light won't wake them up. I don't know if it is really necessary.

Candice & Becca, I love the idea of a solid curtain - thank you!!!! And the black out sounds like a wonderful idea!

That mobile is adorable, and such a great idea! Thank you so, so much - I've never seen one like that! Who cares if it matches or not if it's good for him :)

Anna, the furnitre is from Storkcraft. They carry it pretty much anywhere, and it is really reasonably priced. We ordered ours from Amazon. I think I need to talk my mom into making a pillow - Love that!!! Thank you!
