Prayer Thursday (On a Friday...)

Hi Ladies!

I'm so sorry I'm late on our Prayer Requests y'all!!  Yesterday was so busy, and we had our bible study group last night, and I was just pooped by the time we got home!
Thank you all so much for your prayers this past week!  If we can pray for you, please leave your prayer request in the comments below, or feel free to email me - michelle.ann.ellis@gmail.com

Here are our prayer requests for this week -

Please pray for Christina.  She is my sweet coworkers cousin.  She is 23 years old and has been diagnosed with hodgins lympona.  Please pray for her family and her doctors as well during this time.

Please pray for my dear friend Lindsey's family.  Her sweet sister Jill has been in the hospital.  She has some damage to her heart valve caused by a high fever.  So very scary.  Her doctors are hoping that they can treat the damage with IV antibiotics, but if not, she will have a valve repair surgery.  She has two beautiful little girls and a wonderful husband.  Please pray for Jill's healing, her family, and her doctors throughout her course of treatment.

Please pray for Mrs. Olson, she is struggling with depression.  Pray that God gives her hope and happiness (and a good night's sleep!).

Please pray for Emily's family.  Her Brother In Law's Mom was just diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.  She is currently undergoing treatment.  Please pray for her, her doctors, her faith, and her family during this time.  I pray that God gives her strength and hope. Praise - her liver is clean and she is doing well with her treatments!

Please pray for my coworker, Maurine.  She has been diagnosed with breast cancer.  They found multiple lumps and determined that the cancer has spread to other parts of her body.  She just started chemo and has a beautiful spirit and attitude about it.  She is looking for fun hats and scarfs, because the doctors told her she would probably lose all her hair by the new year.  Do you know of any fun websites that have fun hats and scarfs?  I would love to find her a sassy one!

Please pray for sweet Joanna and her husband, they are waiting for God to bless them with a baby!  They are the most adorable couple I have ever seen, truly!

Please pray for Sarah.  She is in the process of fundraising to bring little Silas home to his forever family!  Please pray that God will provide them the funds that they need to make this possible.

Please pray for my friend Candice and her husband.  They are waiting for God to bless them with a child, and I would be hard pressed to find a kinder, more deserving couple!

Please pray for Leslie and Noah.  They recently suffered a loss and are waiting to become parents.  You can read about them here.

Could you please pray for my Grandparents?  They are living home alone right now with the help of nurses.  It is very, very difficult.  Please pray that they will let God guide them in their decisions for their futures and their care.  This is so hard on them and on my parents and it hurts to watch everyone go through this.

Please pray for Laura.  Her Grandma is showing signs of kidney failure.  She has had a very rough time over the past 15 years, losing two husbands and her mother.  Please also pray for her husband Don, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer last year and is going through treatments.  Please pray for God to give her the strength and hope to fight through this, and that he hold her tight with love and comfort during this time.   Please also pray for Laura's husband, that he have God's guidance in his life right now.

Please pray for sweet baby Bennett.  He was born oh-so-tiny, but has been getting bigger and stronger!  And, he's HOME!  You can read his little story here.

We have been praying for sweet Annika for awhile now, at the request of Kasey.  Please say a special prayer for her dear little body, that God will give her the strength to fight this disease.  Annika is 5 years old and was diagnosed with a rare form of acute lympocytic leukemia.  Please pray for her, her family and her doctors.  I can't imagine what her family is going through.  Isn't she beautiful?  Just look at that smile!

Please pray for sweet Sarah.  She is praying and waiting for God to bless her with a true Godly man that could be a wonderful influence to her young son to share their lives with.  Her testimony is so beautiful, I felt inspired just reading it.

Please pray for my Daddy's (Jerry) job search and that his good spirits continue.  I just know God has the perfect plan for him.  He hasn't been working for a year - I can't believe it's been that long!

I have been following Lianna's blog for a few months now, and she just seems like the sweetest girl!  She and her husband are waiting for God to bless them with a child.  You can read about them here.  Please pray for their journey to become parents.

Please say a quick prayer for all the women waiting for God to bless them with husbands or babies.

Thank you for praying for hubby and I!  Can you please pray for baby Jaxson?  He is doing great, but I worry about him in there.  I am having some very uncomfortable pelvic swelling, and my doctor is concerned that I am developing a hernia. Please pray that it doesn't progress into that.  Thank you so much!
Thank you so very much for all of your prayers!  Please let me know if we can pray for you!

Baby Jaxson's First Photo Shoot!

We went to Dallas last weekend to visit my darling parents and sister.  What an amazing weekend!  I just love being home.  It feels so weird that I will only be home a few times before our little boy arrives.  Trips to Dallas will never be the same!

My Daddy was so sweet, he made us wonderful meals while we were there!  We had ribs, Bandit Chili, and a Steak and Lobster dinner.  My mom and sister and I got to have a wonderful girls day!  We shopped at Harry and David, went to a cutie yogurt bar, and headed to Babies R Us to finish Jaxson's registry.  It was wonderful.  I didn't want to come home!

On Saturday, baby Jaxson had his first photo shoot!  We had a 3/4D ultrasound done.  It was amazing!  Here are a few of my favorite pics from the appointment.

I adore him : )

The nurse said he was overly active.  I know - he is moving all the time!!!  We might have our hands full when our little ninja arrives.

28 Weeks! Hello 3rd Trimester!

I'm 7 Months Pregnant!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: Baby is the size of a head of cauliflower!  And weighs about 2.5 lbs.
Total Weight Gain: Gained 22.5 lbs!

Belly Growth: 12 inches.

Maternity Clothes: Oh yes!!
Gender: It's a boy!

Movement: Constant!  He is starting to hurt me sometimes!

Sleep: My Mom got me this boppy pillow, and I would have paid about oh, a million dollars for it.  It takes so much pressure off of my hips and my legs, and helps me sleep longer throughout the night.  It's amazing.  Every pregnant woman needs one.

Symptoms: I feel huge.  Like, really huge.  It is hard for me to stand for long periods of time without my back and feet hurting.  My doctor says I am anemic, and that I may be developing a hernia.  I have a lot of painful pelvic swelling on my right side.
Cravings: I have a problem with sweets.  I am loving Baskin Robbins Chocolate and Peanut Butter ice cream.  I asked Hubby to let me run in there for some on Sunday after dinner.  The sweet teenage girl said, "Oh how cute, is this a pregnancy craving?"  I told her it wasn't, that I just really wanted some ice cream.  Well, the next night, I went to Randall's, which just so happens to be right next to Baskin Robbins.  So, I thought I'd go in and buy the prepackaged carton of said ice cream.  Well, the sweet teenager was thrilled to see me back, and sweetly pointed out "See, I knew it was a craving!"  So yes, I have a problem.  I need to get this ice cream thing under control.

Emotions: Good this week.  I'm starting to really see the weight gain in my face and cheeks, and that part is hard, but other than that, I've been feeling good.

Best Moment of the Week: Seeing Jaxson's pictures on the 3/4D ultrasounds!  And, getting to spend the weekend in Dallas with my parents.  I've missed them so much and totally got m batteries recharged with a great parents visit!!
I hope you are all having a wonderful week!

Kelly's Korner: Show Us Your Life - Alma Maters

I love this week's SUYL!  It's all about your school!

I went to high school in Birmingham, Alabama - and KNEW that I was going to go to Auburn.  Well, my Dad took a new job right before my senior year of high school, and we moved to Dallas, Texas.  My parents wouldn't allow me to go back to Alabama for college, so I had to choose a Texas school.  I didn't really care which one, but I knew I wanted to go to a large school.  We visited College Station, and it felt similar to the feel of Auburn.  So, I decided that is where I would go.  I'm so glad I did!

I love being an Aggie!  My college years were the most fun years of my life thus far.  I miss it so much!  I pledged Alpha Chi Omega my freshman year, and met the most important women in my life to this day.

My precious AXO sisters with hubby.
My Aggie girls on my wedding day.

A&M is such an amazing place.  I learned so much about life and myself during those four years.  It is a wonderful, safe, conservative school.  The values and traditions there are ones that I am so proud to share.

I wouldn't trade my experience for the world!

Painted Nursery!

My dear, sweet hubby spent the majority of last weekend painting our nursery.  He did such a wonderful job!

We painted it hot coco, and we just love it!  It matches with the light brown color in his argyle bedding.

As you can see, we have a rrreeaalllyyy long way to go - but we are making progress!

I wanted to take pictures of him painting, but he very nicely asked me not to, so I obliged ;)  But I'll tell you, he was an adorable painter - haha!

(please excuse the mess in these pics.  It's a work in progress)

Buffalo Chicken Dip

This dip is a favorite at our house - it's not good for you - but it's so yummy!!!  I only make it a few times a year, and superbowl is one of those times.

It's SO easy!

Here's what you need -
1 block of cream cheese (8 oz)
1 large chicken breast
1/2 cup of wing sauce (we like Franks)
1/2 cup of ranch dressing (we use hidden valley)
1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese

I like to boil my chicken breast in a pot of water for about 20 minutes, or until juices run clear.  Let it cool, and then shred into small pieces.
Soften the cream cheese in the microwave.  I do this on low power defrost for about 2 minutes.
Stir in all the other ingredients.
Bake in a pie pan or a 9x9 in pan.  I use a glass pan that I spray with Pam.
350 degrees for about 15 minutes.

We like to eat it with tortilla chips, but you could eat it with celery, crackers, or anything else.

I hope you like it!

Show us Your Life - Beauty Secrets!

It's been a long time since I last linked with Kelly's Korner's Show Us Your Life!  I miss it!  If you are visiting from her blog, welcome and thanks so much for stopping by!

Today's topic is so fun - BEAUTY SECRETS!  I can't wait to read about everyone elses' tips!  I love learning new ideas!!

Here are a few of my favorite things.  Mind you, these have changed a little bit now that I'm 7 months pregnant - ha!  Different things are important, and my whole body is so different!

Here are the things I couldn't live without right now...

1. My Marilyn brush.  I don't know what I would do without her.  It's a BIG brush, but it's the only one I have ever found that allows me to tame my naturally curly hair with a blow out.  I love her.  I know it's really expensive for a hair brush, but I've had mine for 5 years, so I consider that not too shappy of an investment.

2. BeautiControls Corticure Comfort Lotion
About half way into my 2nd trimester, my skin started changing.  It got dry and blotchy.  I have had oily skin my whole adult life, so this was new territory for me.  So, I went out and bought some Oil of Olay moistureizer, and it broke my face out.  Who would have thought?  My Mom actively sold BeautiControl in the 90's, but now she just orders stuff for her, my sister and myself.  She gave me a tube of this, and it has saved my face.  It's soft, doesn't break out my sensitive skin, and evens out the blotches somehow.  I love it.  It's a little more than I would usally spend at $20 a bottle, but I think it's going to last me a long time.

3. Coco Butter!
I apply coco butter from my shoulders to my toes, and have since the day I found out I was preggo.  *Crossing Fingers* I have yet to have a stretch mark or the itchy belly that I have heard so much about.  I put it on each morning.  Hubby thinks it's weird and refers to it as my daily "lubing up" ha ha!  I just buy the big bottle of the Walgreens brand and it works great for me.  And it doesn't have a strong smell, which I like.

4. Don't laugh at me, but a large head Dobson tooth brush is a constant in my make up bag.  No, it's not for my teeth, it's for teasing my hair!!  You can find them for a few dollars at Walgreens.

5. Lip Balm

I MUST have something on my lips at all times. I have a little container of this lip balm in the kitchen drawer, my nightstand, the bathroom drawer, my car, my desk, my purse, the guest bathroom...pretty much everywhere! My favorite is the BeautiControl Skinlogics Lip Balm. My sweet Mom has bought these for me for years : )

Those are my top 5 right now!  What are your faves?  Link up to Kelly's Korner and share!

Happy Friday Everyone!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Please pray for my Daddy's (Jerry) job search and that his good spirits continue.  I just know God has the perfect plan for him.  He has a big interview this week - his non compete agreement is finally over and he can make contact with people in his industry again!

Can I ask that you please pray for our little one?  I know it's silly, but there are so many times that I worry about him in there :)

Thank you so very much for all of your prayers!  Please let me know if we can pray for you!

27 Weeks

I'm 27 weeks pregnant!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: Baby is the size of an english cucumber!  And weighs about 2.2 lbs.
Total Weight Gain: Gained 21 lbs!

Belly Growth: 11 inches.

Maternity Clothes: Oh yes!!
Gender: It's a boy!

Movement: Lots and lots and lots!  I had a lunch meeting at work today, and he was jumping around in there the whole time!  The more still that I am, the more it seems like he moves.  My book says that it's because when I move around it rocks him to sleep.  I thought that was so interesting and made so much sense.
Sleep: I'm waking up a lot more, but I'm still getting really good sleep, so that's great!

Symptoms: I feel huge - haha!  Other than that, I'm doing great.  I'm a little uncomfortable, and his kicks and punches are starting to hurt a little, but that's all part of the process : )

Cravings: Nothing special this week.  The yellow cake is gone, thank goodness ; ) (I guess thank goodness, I mean, I did eat almost the entire cake last week...oops)
Emotions: Good this week.  I'm starting to really see the weight gain in my face and cheeks, and that part is hard, but other than that, I've been feeling good.  We are going to Dallas this weekend to see my parents and my sister, and I can't wait!!!  I miss them so very much and I just can't wait to be home!  I scheduled a 3D/4D ultrasound for Saturday, so they can see sweet baby Jaxson.  I hope we get to see his little face!!

Best Moment of the Week:  I don't think I've shared this, but hubby does NOT want to feel the baby move.  It is really weird for him to "think" about him being in there.  He is ready for Jaxson to be "here", but it's weird for him to think about him in my belly.  Anyway, we were laying on the sofa, and his leg was by my belly.  Jaxson gave one of those all star kicks, and hubby's face lit up.  I know it sounds silly, but it was a milestone in our home, and it totally made my week :)  Maybe, my month!

I hope you are all having a wonderful week!

New Furniture!

With the new baby coming, hubby and I decided that we needed to upgrade our living room furniture.  We wanted leather for easy clean up, and something smaller than the recliners that took up half of our room.  We also needed a taller console table, one with doors to keep little hands away from chords and such.

Well, we found it!  We couldn't find a leather sofa, that, well, we thought we could "live on".  We spend a ton of time (don't judge - haha!) on our sofa, and we want it to be comfortable.  Plus, hubby likes to spread out, leaving me with a tiny corner of the sofa to curl up in.  We can't have something beautiful and fancy looking - haha!  So, we decided on leather chairs and a dark chocolate sofa.  What do you think?
Our console table.  Hubby and I wandered around hobby lobby and found these urns, bought all the insides, and he put them together!  All for about $120.  Not to shabby!  I was very impressed with his skills :)
Our new sofa.  We picked these pillows out at Pier One, and spent more on them than I usually EVER would - but they are the perfect size and we really like the pattern.

Our chairs.  We are searching or the perfect table to go in between them - this is just one that we had.  I'm sure we will find it soon!

Hope you like it!  Any advice on baby proofing or things we could add?

We named our Son!

If you read this post (or any of my weekly updates) - you know how much trouble we have had deciding on a name for our little boy.

Well, we finally picked one!

It's hubby's pick - but I grew to love it.  My worry was that it was to common, but we changed the spelling of it, and decided on a cutie nickname.

What was the deciding factor?  Well, I caught myself calling him by his name while I was talking to someone else.  And, it just started to feel right.  When I told hubby that I was thinking it was "the name" he was very excited.  And, that was that!

Jaxson Jeffrey Ellis

I love it.  We will not call him JJ, but we will call him Jax.  I think it's cute and fun, and a little bit different.  Hubby likes it because it's strong, masculine and he thinks it sounds like an athlete's name.  haha!

I've ordered his baby book, and hubby and I are in the process of picking letters to hang on the walls of his room.  This part is fun!

Hope you are having a great week!  Thank you all for your kind words and support throughout the naming process : )  I'm not going to lie, I'm glad it's over!!

26 Weeks

I'm 26 weeks pregnant!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: Baby is the size of on eggplant!  And weighs about 1.5 lbs.
Total Weight Gain: Gained 19 lbs!

Belly Growth: 11 inches.  About the size of a soccer ball.
Maternity Clothes: Oh yes!!
Gender: It's a boy!

Movement: Yes!  And, you know how I said last week that I might miss it when he's not in my belly anymore?  Well, I would like to recant that statement.  He is starting to hurt me a little!  He is a very busy little boy!
Sleep: Getting better.  I have to get up at least two times a night to potty, but other than that, it's going better.
Symptoms: This is the first week that I have been uncomfortable.  I can't bend over anymore, and my belly is starting to get in the way.  If I spend a lot of time on my feet, my entire body hurts.  I'm a little worried about having to slow down for the next 13 weeks.
Cravings: Yellow cake with chocolate frosting.  LOVE IT.
Emotions: Good this week.  I'm starting to really see the weight gain in my face and cheeks, and that part is hard, but other than that, I've been feeling good.

Best Moment of the Week:  We finally named our sweet baby boy!  Praise God!!

I hope you are all having a wonderful week!

What's been going on & an award!

Hi Ladies!  I haven't blogged in a little while, so I thought I'd do a little recap of what's been going on in our world.

We got new living room furniture!  I'll post it this weekend.  I just love it!

The baby room is ALMOST cleaned out!  Hubby stepped up his game last weekend and got tons of stuff out of our house.  I also made a BIG trip to Goodwill - we have more to do, but I feel much better being rid of all the clutter.

We are waiting for the snow.  Yes, here in Houston we are awaiting snow.  I've decided that the weather people don't have a clue what they are doing.  We were supposed to get snow this afternoon - blue skies.  We are supposed to get snow all night long - pretty sure they will change their minds about that too.  My hopes are all up for a snow day off of work, but I have a funny feeling that it isn't going to happen.

We finally decided on a name for our little boy!  Thank goodness!

We wanted to go to Dallas this weekend to visit my family and enjoy the superbowl fun, but the weather is so bad up there, and we have no idea what it will be like here tomorrow, so I think we are going to stay put and try again next weekend.

I made lasagana for the first time ever tonight.  It was okay, but I'm pretty sure it needed more tomato sauce, and maybe some garlic or something.  I think it's going to take me a few tries to figure it out.  It was more time consuming that I thought!  I have a whole new respect for stouffers - haha!

And...sweet Jess at Tales from a Southern Girl gave me an award!  Thank you sweetie!!!
Here's how it works -

1) Thank and link back to the lovely lady that gave you this award.

2) Award 15 recently discovered great bloggers!

Here are a few of my faves -
13) A&W

Check them out if you have some time, they are very special ladies!

What have you been up to this week?  Are you waiting for snow or already buried in it?

Take Care!

Hi Ladies!

Thank you all so much for your prayers this past week!  If we can pray for you, please leave your prayer request in the comments below, or feel free to email me - michelle.ann.ellis@gmail.com

Here are our prayer requests for this week -

Please pray for Mrs. Olson, she is struggling with depression.  Pray that God gives her hope and happiness (and a good night's sleep!).

Please pray for Emily's family.  Her Brother In Law's Mom was just diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.  She is scheduled to start her treatment this week.  Please pray for her, her doctors, her faith, and her family during this time.  I pray that God gives her strength and hope. Praise - her liver is clean!!

Please pray for my coworker, Maurine.  She has been diagnosed with breast cancer.  They found multiple lumps and determined that the cancer has spread to other parts of her body.  She just started chemo and has a beautiful spirit and attitude about it.  She is looking for fun hats aand scarfs, because the doctors told her she would probably lose all her hair by the new year.

They are waiting for God to bless them with a child.

He has a big interview this week - his non compete agreement is finally over and he can make contact with people in his industry again!

Can I ask that you please pray for our little one?  I know it's silly, but there are so many times that I worry about him in there :)

Thank you so very much for all of your prayers!  Please let me know if we can pray for you!
