30 Things before I'm 30 - #1

#1 on my 30 Things before 30 is to read the whole bible.

Well, it just so happens that our church, The Met, is doing a church wide bible reading. They are encouraging each church goer subscribe to a reading plan. There are many different ones to choose from, and I choose the one that will guide me through reading the entire bible in one year. I'm on day 3 - and I'm enjoying it! There are a few readings each day, and a combination of Old and New Testament. So, I should be done on January 17th, 2011. Wish me luck, I'm determined to stick with this one!

Here's the link to the reading plans if you are interested in doing one too!

Praying for Haiti

I cannot stop thinking about all of the families in Haiti suffering right now. Hundreds of thousands of people are feared deceased, and families are trying to locate their loved ones. Please pray for the people of Haiti.

If you feel inclined, you can donate to the American Red Cross. Kelly's Korner has some wonderful, easy ways ways to donate.

"Lord, please bless the people of Haiti. Please take care of all those that lost their lives and comfort those that were spared. Please guide those of us that are able to give our time, support, money and prayers as per your will. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen."

30 Things before I'm 30 - #2

2. Become and active and contributing member of a church.

I am starting this tomorrow! I got an email from The Met today outlining their Spring class schedules. I decided that I am going to join a class. I don't know which one I am going to choose, but I am going to look at the list with Jeff tonight. I am very proud of myself, I told him that I am going to join one and that he can do so too if he would like. He hasn't decided yet. They start tomorrow!

Anyway, the classes last for 12 weeks, and are every Wednesday evening for an hour. I think this is a great way to get involved in the church! I'll let you know how it goes!

Tim Tebow - Witness

As a Christian woman, I often struggle with how often I witness to others, to share God's word. Tim Tebow is an amazing example of someone that uses the gifts that God gave him to spread his word and his glory. As hubby and I watch the bowl game tonight, we decided the google the verse printed on his black out. When I typed in "ep", Ephesians 2 8-10 Tim Tebow automatically popped up. That just goes to show you how many other people did that same thing tonight. Amazing. What a wonderful example for me to follow. Now, I'm not going to paint bible verses on my face, but I will think more about verbally giving God the credit for anything great that I do : )

Ephesians 2 8-10
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Jesus Christ to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

What an amazing verse. I'm not going to lie, I've never studied this one. God made us to do good things, and he saved us himself, not because of these said good things, but as a gift for us. I am always in awe of the fact that we were "created in Jesus Christ" in his image. How humbling.

Do you witness? How do you do it? Verbally, visually like Tim Tebow, through good works?
