Early Alabama Christmas

We decided to celebrate an early Christmas in Alabama this year, and it was oh so fun!

Hubby couldn't get away from work...so Jaxson and I headed out on our own.  He was an angel on the flight there, and an absolute terror on the fight home.  It was a nightmare.  Kicking the seat in front of us, screaming to get down, hitting me, yelling....everyone on that flight hated my guts.  It will probably be a little while before I brave flying with him again.

We spent some wonderful time with my Alabama side of the family.  It was such a great trip.
Jaxson LOVED riding around with his Edaddy
Got to meet Santa...who is wasn't the least bit scared of!

So...my Aunt Cinny has the most amazing Christmas tree ever.  It's so beautiful.  It takes her about a week to put up, and it's 12 feet tall.  I have to share some pictures of her house this year.

Merry Christmas!

From my family to yours...Merry Christmas!

30 Days of Thankfulness - Day 4

Today I am thankful for God's Grace, Love, and Mercy.  Could you imagine what type of world we would live in without it?  My prayer with Jaxson each morning on the way to daycare is that we will have the opportunity for someone to cross our paths today that needs to see it in action, and for God to help us identify the opportunity and to use the gifts he has given us to show it.  I can't think of anything more powerful that I can do as a Christian than be God's hands and feet.

Happy Halloween!

Jaxson's second Halloween was super fun!  We dressed him up as his most favorite character ever...COOKIE!  He grunts and grunts cookie all day long.  It's precious...and creepy sometimes - haha!

We went over to our old neighborhood for trick or treating.  I miss our old neighbors so much.  They were so sweet and welcoming!

Jaxson wasn't scared of anything.  Not the scary monsters, pumpkins...nothing!  I'm telling you, this little boy is fearless!

I bought an Emlo and Big Bird shirt for Hubby and I to wear.  Jaxson loved it!  He kept pointing at our shirts with pure excitement.  It make it worth every penny!

I always like to post a few pics of what our house looks like decorated.  Nothing too terribly exciting, but a few little touches here and there :)

How was your Halloween?

30 Days of Thankfulness - Day 3

Today I am thankful that I have a car that is safe, and gets me where I need to go.  I like my little honda accord just fine, but I was so terribly sad to move from an SUV to a car.  But, it made sense.  Remember when Hubby "surprised" me and sold my beloved jeep and brought home that awful Tahoe?  UGH.  For my new readers, that's a story for a rainy day!!

What are you thankful for today?

30 Days of Thankfulness - Day 2

Today I am grateful for my job.  Yes, it's stressful.  Yes, sales make me crazy sometimes, but I am very thankful that I have a great opportunity and work for a wonderful company.  Many people don't have jobs or are stuck in awful situations.  I try to remind myself of that on days when I just don't want to go :)  Don't judge, you know you've had those mornings too!  hahaha!

What are you grateful for today?

Pumpkin Patch

We had an incredible time at the pumpkin patch!  Jaxson skipped his morning nap, so he was WILD!  But, we still had an amazing time.  We went to the Old Town Christmas Tree Farm here in Spring, TX.  They had hundreds of pumpkins!  I may or may not have purchased half a dozen or so.  Oops.

My parents came in town for the weekend, and that made it all the more special.  I love when they come visit!  It truly makes my house feel like a home.  My Mom does so much to help me, and we always have the best time.
Jaxson loved the little cut outs.  We may have purchased a charlie brown cut out to go with our snoopy pumpkin ;)
We started our day with Pumpkin Spice Pancakes.  My sweet friend Kelly bought me this adorable set of pancakes and molds.  It's a new Pumpkin Patch Day tradition!  The pancakes were super cute and oh so yummy!

All Jaxson wanted to do was climb the pumpkins.  And, play with grandpa.

I ain't afraid of no ghost!

All I wanted was one family picture.  Just one. Well, Jaxson had another plan.  He wiggled and wiggled and wouldn't stand to be held.  Not even for two seconds.  So, this is what we ended up with...it's not a framer...but, I'll take it!
I made these amazing Pumpkin Spice Cookies that I found on pinterest.  I absolutely recommend them.  AMAZING.

And one of the greatest parts of having your Daddy in town?  Help with pumpkin carving! haha!  I was carving with a steak knife, and he went out to the truck and returned with a very sharp knife.  He finished my pumpkin for me in no time at all!  Thanks Daddy!

And, just for fun...look at this pumpkin patch picture from just last year.  I cannot believe how much my precious little man has grown in such a short amount of time!

30 Days of Thankfulness

It's been a few years since I've done 30 days of thankfulness on my blog.  My family has been so blessed this year, and I feel like it's so important to focus on the blessings in our lives.  It's so easy to let the little everyday things get us down in the dumps and make us feel like life is so hard, when, we are really, truly blessed.

Today, I'm thankful for my health, and the health of my family.  So many people have chronic illnesses, sick children, parents with cancer, and so many other things.  I am so incredibly grateful that my family is healthy.  I'm even thankful for colds.  I'd much rather have cold than the suffering that so many others endure daily.

What are you thankful for today?  Play along!
