Prayer Thursday

Hi Ladies!

Thank you all so much for your prayers this past week!  If we can pray for you, please leave your prayer request in the comments below, or feel free to email me - michelle.ann.ellis@gmail.com

Quick question - does anyone know how to make a button?  Can you teach me?  I would like to make a Prayer Thursday button, and then you could link up with your prayer requests.  What do you ladies think?  Is that something you would be interested in, or should we leave our prayer requests this way?  Thanks for the input!

Here are our prayer requests for this week -

My Grandmother was recently diagnosed with Alzehiemers.  We are all confused, concerned, and scared.  Please pray for her, that God will give her the peace that he will take care of her.  Please pray for our family, that we all have patience, strength and understanding for her.

Please pray for Laura.  Her Grandma is showing signs of kidney failure.  She has had a very rough time over the past 15 years, losing two husbands and her mother.  Please also pray for her husband Don, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer last year and is going through treatments.  Please pray for God to give her the strength and hope to fight through this, and that he hold her tight with love and comfort during this time.  Please also pray for Laura's niece, she is having eye surgery.  Please also pray for Laura's husband, that he have God's guidance in his life right now.

Please pray for sweet baby Bennett.  He was born oh-so-tiny, but has been getting bigger and stronger!  You can read his little story here.

We have been praying for sweet Annika for awhile now, at the request of Kasey.  Please say a special prayer for her dear little body, that God will give her the strength to fight this disease.  Annika is 5 years old and was diagnosed with a rare form of acute lympocytic leukemia.  Please pray for her, her family and her doctors.  I can't imagine what her family is going through.  Isn't she beautiful?  Just look at that smile!

Please pray for baby Cohen's parents. You can read their story here.  He is in God's beautiful hands now.

Please pray for sweet Sarah.  She is praying and waiting for God to bless her with a true Godly man that could be a wonderful influence to her young son to share their lives with.  Her testimony is so beautiful, I felt inspired just reading it.

Please pray for my coworker Colin.  His daughter in law had breast cancer three years ago, and won that fight.  Unfortunately, the cancer is back - this time in her spine.  She is going through radiation now and the prognosis is not positive.  Please pray for her.

Please pray for my sweet friend Jackie.  She is starting the bring the quadruplets home!!!  They are all safe and doing well.  She is super mom!  Please pray for her and the babies.  You can read about her journey here.

Please pray for my Daddy's (Jerry) job search and that his good spirits continue.  I just know God has the perfect plan for him.

Please pray for little Jed Harper.  You can read about his story here.  What a beautiful family turning their sweet son's health over to God.  They are truly inspiring.

I have been following Lianna's blog for a few months now, and she just seems like the sweetest girl!  She and her husband are waiting for God to bless them with a child.  You can read about them here.  Please pray for their journey to become parents.

Could you please also pray for our friend's Dad?  He had surgery a few months ago and is having some memory problems.  Please pray for their family and his doctors, and that they can find out what is wrong.

In closing, could you please pray for hubby and I?  Everything is fine, but we have some different things going on lately and I am praying that God speaks to both our hearts and shows us the right paths and decisions that will be pleasing to him.  Hubby is struggling with giving things over to God.  Please pray that he feels the peace and comfort that comes with trust God and giving him all that we have.  Thank you!

Thank you so very much for all of your prayers!  Please let me know if we can pray for you!

Texans Game

Hubby and I went to the Texans - Cowboys game on Sunday.  We were SO excited.  While we had a great time for most of the experience, it just stinks that we lost.

Remember when you were dating, and a boy disappointed you?  At that time, I usually took a break to evaluate things and decide if I wanted to see them again.  That's how I feel about our Texans.  We are on a break.  I was so disappointed in them on Sunday.  They have so much talent - and it was like they didn't show up on Sunday.  There was such a lack of heart, of intensity.  Hubby thinks I'm crazy - but I need a break from them.  I won't be watching them this week.  Wounds take time to heal - haha!

We got tickets to the pregame Churasscos Club.  Oh my - it was amazing!!  Like a wonderful charity dinner or something.  They had assigned seating, reception style, waiters and waitresses wondering around with all kinds of cool drinks, tons of food, a band, a DJ, and huge screens playing the pregame everywhere!  We decided that we should do this once a season.  It was such a treat!

Our seats were amazing.  EXCEPT for one thing - we sat by some of the worst Cowboys fans EVER.  They were rude, crude, disrespectful and just awful.  Now, don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Cowboys fans in general - my parents and sister bleed Dallas blue - but the ones surrounding us were terrible.  We left during the last fumble.  Hubby was fuming.  It was time.

In my alternate life, I swear I would be a professional cheerleader, or a go-go dancer (a classy one of course) - haha!  I am fascinated with them!

Maybe I will be over our loss next week...maybe.  Until then, the Texans and I are on a break!

30 Things Before 30! - Wedding Ring Sautered!

So, I have been meaning to do this forever, but I finally got my wedding ring and my engagement ring connected!  I'm so happy that I did it, and I'm thrilled with how they turned out!  Another thing crossed off the list!!

I am oh-so-forgetful, and tend to lose things, so the thought of having two things to potentially lose was just too much for me.  And, my wedding band is a European cut, so it stays put while my engagement ring slides all around, and they are just beating each other up.  Now they are all connected and happy as can be.
I had the hardest time ever figuring out how to take a picture of the ring, and this seemed to work.  Haha - I know it's oh-so-cheesy!

I hope everyone is having a great week!  Mine has just been crazy - but great.

Have a wonderful afternoon!!!

30 Things before 30! - Bedroom Furniture

We finally got our bedroom furniture!  That's one I can cross off the list!

This is our dresser.  I just love how dark the wood is, and hubby loves the brushed silver knobs.  I feel like we are offically grown up now with our grown up bedroom :)

The white walls in these pictures make me want to paint our bedroom right now!  Oh well, all in due time!
I have my own nightstand!  I haven't had one since I lived alone.
(Yes, that is my Love and Respect book - haha!)
I don't love this bedspread, but it will do for now.  I have been searching for the perfect one for quite some time.  But, in the meantime, this one is perfect for us.

Another Weekend Comes to an end...

I wish weekends lasted longer.  Just one more day or two would be amazing, wouldn't it?

We had a nice, fairly quiet weekend.  Friday night we celebrated Greg's birthday at Hubble & Hudson in The Woodlands.  It was our first time there - and it was really good!  Afterwards we headed to Crush and had a great time catching up with friends.

Jeff and the Birthday Boy

Brandon Serving Shots and Beers :)

Happy Birthday Greg!

Lindsey and Greg

The next best part of our weekend....FOOTBALL!  Our teams won!  My Aggies won their second game, and our Texans, I mean, wow.  I actually felt badly for Peyton Manning at one point during the game (I just love him - I think he is such a great person).  It was a very successful football weekend.

We cooked the little bitty shrimps that we got when we were in Port O Connor a few weeks ago.  Can you believe that the shrimpers give these away?  They don't sell them because they are so small.  Yes please!  We love to boil these little guys.  They were the perfect football finger food!

Bandit had a busy weekend too.  I did a few loads of laundry today, and each time I went into the laundry room, he followed me in a refused to come out.  You see, he has about a million toys.  We can't keep them all out and about the house, because we would always be tripping over them, and because hubby is OCD about clutter.  So, he usually has about a dozen around the house, and a basket containing the mother load in the laundry room, on the top shelf.  When he wants a toy that is in the basket, he will sit in front of the laundry room door and stare at it until we let him choose his toy.  It is a long process...he must find the perfect toy.
Here he is pouting after the fourth time I ushered him out of the laundry room toyless.

But...how can you resist this face???

You see, he has to pull many of them out to find the perfect one :)

haha!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend too!  Here's to a great week!
