Sports Highlights - Brett Favre

Hi Ladies!

Here is my first go at sports highlights! Listening to Mike and Mike on the radio this morning inspired me to get interested. Today, they were taking about Brett Favre. I decided to educate myself (and you) on him today.

Brett Favre
Brett Favre, besides being a cutie, has played for Green Bay for what seems like forever. He has now signed with the Vikings, after 2 "retirements". Here's the low down -

College Quarterback for the University of Southern Mississippi - 4 years
Selected in the second round of the 1991 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons
Traded to the Green Bay Packers on February 10, 1992 in the Draft
Became the Packers Starting Quarterback in the 4th game of the 1992 Season, and started every game until his retirement in 2008
2008 - Came out of retirement and was traded to the New York Jets
February 11, 2009 - Retired again
August 18, 2009 - Came out of retirement and signed with the Vikings

Some are claiming that he has damaged his legacy as one of the greatest Quarterbacks of all time with his need for attention. Others say that he brings a fun and innocence back to the game, and will be great for the Vikings program. They say when you get him into the huddle, there is an unmistakable energy and excitement.

Stats -
Only player to win the AP Most Valuable Player - 3 Years in a row
Led the Packers to 7 Division Championships, 4 NFC Championship Games
Played in 2 Super Bowls
Won the Super Bowl!
Most Career Touchdown Passes (464)
Most Career Passing Yards (56127)
Most Career Pass Completions (5720)
Most Career Pass Attemps (9280)
Most Career Interceptions Thrown (I don't think this is a good thing?) (310)
Most Consecutive Starts (269)
Most Career Victories as a Starting Quarterback.

Here's the stuff that us girls really care about...

He married his wife in 1996, and has two daughters. They are Roman Catholic. They established the Brett Favre Fourward Foundation that has donated more than $2 million to charities in his home state of Mississippi as well as his "adopted" state of Wisconsin. They also own Brett Favre's Steakhouse in Green Bay.

Now, go and impress your husbands!!!
