We absolutely did!
On Friday, Hubby and I were both off of work, so Jaxson and I headed to the mall to see the Easter Bunny. I think those bunnies are so creepy, and I still don't completely understand where they came from. So, I decided to google it! Apparently, the tradition of the Easter Buny was first mentioned in Georg Franck von Frankenau's De ovis paschalibus, which means, About Easter Eggs in 1682. Wow! The hare was a popular image in medieval church art, and people believed that it was a hermaphrodite and could reproduce without the loss of it's virtue. This led to an association with the Virgin Mary, and the hare started appearing in paintings of Mary and baby Jesus. Isn't that weird?
Anyway, I was worried that Jaxson would be scared of the Easter Bunny. But, he wasn't!! He wasn't smiling and giggling, but he didn't cry. He just kind of looked at me like, why am I sitting with bunny, Mommy?
On Saturday, we headed to Port O Connor to visit my Pappa. This has been tradition for years with Daddy and I. We started meeting there to celebrate Easter my freshman year of college, and have done it ever since. I've only missed one year, last year, and that is because I was so pregnant!
Jaxson attended his first Easter egg hunt at Pappa's church. It was too funny. He didn't care too much about the eggs, he was more interested in watching the other kiddos run around.
He wore his little hat though, isn't it adorable!?
He had a wonderful time playing and swinging with Grandpa. His favorite game is taking his hat off and then putting it back on.
He loves his Pappa too :) They are too cutie together! Pappa sings fun songs to him and he just loves it!
Gigi got him lots of Easter treats! He loves all of them an hasn't played with any old toys all week.
He was pretty good in chruch! We take him to the nursery here at home, but we kept him with us for this service. He loved the music!
We also took him to the beach for the first time. He LOVED it! I am so happy that we have a water baby. I don't know what I would do with a child that was scared of the water. When I put him down, he ran towards it with reckless abandon! That kiddo is fearless!
On Sunday afternoon we celebrated Easter with Jeff's Mom, Sister and her husband. We had a great afternoon full of family. She had a little Easter Egg hunt for him in the backyard and he loved it! He carried around his little cars Easter basket and everything. Then, he dropped it, and all the eggs spilled out the goldfish crackers and the kix and Bandit had the happiest Easter ever!
