Pumpkin Patch

We had an incredible time at the pumpkin patch!  Jaxson skipped his morning nap, so he was WILD!  But, we still had an amazing time.  We went to the Old Town Christmas Tree Farm here in Spring, TX.  They had hundreds of pumpkins!  I may or may not have purchased half a dozen or so.  Oops.

My parents came in town for the weekend, and that made it all the more special.  I love when they come visit!  It truly makes my house feel like a home.  My Mom does so much to help me, and we always have the best time.

Jaxson loved the little cut outs.  We may have purchased a charlie brown cut out to go with our snoopy pumpkin ;)

We started our day with Pumpkin Spice Pancakes.  My sweet friend Kelly bought me this adorable set of pancakes and molds.  It's a new Pumpkin Patch Day tradition!  The pancakes were super cute and oh so yummy!

All Jaxson wanted to do was climb the pumpkins.  And, play with grandpa.

All I wanted was one family picture.  Just one. Well, Jaxson had another plan.  He wiggled and wiggled and wouldn't stand to be held.  Not even for two seconds.  So, this is what we ended up with...it's not a framer...but, I'll take it!

I made these amazing Pumpkin Spice Cookies that I found on pinterest.  I absolutely recommend them.  AMAZING.

 

And one of the greatest parts of having your Daddy in town?  Help with pumpkin carving! haha!  I was carving with a steak knife, and he went out to the truck and returned with a very sharp knife.  He finished my pumpkin for me in no time at all!  Thanks Daddy!

30 Days of Thankfulness

It's been a few years since I've done 30 days of thankfulness on my blog.  My family has been so blessed this year, and I feel like it's so important to focus on the blessings in our lives.  It's so easy to let the little everyday things get us down in the dumps and make us feel like life is so hard, when, we are really, truly blessed.

Today, I'm thankful for my health, and the health of my family.  So many people have chronic illnesses, sick children, parents with cancer, and so many other things.  I am so incredibly grateful that my family is healthy.  I'm even thankful for colds.  I'd much rather have cold than the suffering that so many others endure daily.

Aloha!

We just got home from Kona!

What an amazing place!  Kona, or The Big Island, has an active volcano.  It's not like the other islands that I've been to, because it is all lava rock!  It is very dark, but very beautiful and untouched.  I've never seen anything like it.

 

 

 

After an 18 hour day of travel, I finally made it!  And, I found a very, very sick hubby.  Apparently, many of his coworkers got a horrible virus and had the on staff doctor busy as could be.  I felt just terrible for him.  He spent a good amont of our trip coughing, fighting a fever and sleeping.  Poor guy.  Thankfully, I'm okay on my own, so I entertained myself just fine.

Each morning I woke up for the sunrise, and walked a couple miles to the market where I had fresh fruit and coffee for breakfast, and stocked up on juice, water and snacks for the day.  I loved starting my days that way.  Then I would take hubby his fruit and head down to the pool or the beach.  It was so nice to relax, take naps, and read.  I read three books!!  I haven't read a book in forever!

 

 

This trail, The Kings Trail, was made out of lava rock.  It goes all the way across the island.  Isn't it amazing?  I went a couple of miles in each direction...it's a rough hike!  I just love the idea of the thousands of people over hundreds of years that traveled on this trail.

 

The resort was beautiful and quiet.  I could have spent months there.  We even watched Monday night football and cheered our Texas on to a win!

We went to Roy's for my birthday dinner.  It was amazing, as always.  Last year, for my 30th birthday, we went to Roy's in Las Vegas.  This year, Hawaii.  I love birthdays!!! 

 

 

My parents treated us to a sunset dinner at KPC, the best dining on the island.  They always know the greatest things to do.

 

Now we are home, and back to reality!  At least we are well rested and super tan!

And...I'm back!

Hi Friends!

I know, I know, I haven't blogged in such a long time...our lives have been so incredibly busy and blessed!

We are getting settled in our new home at long last.  I am so grateful for it!  It's taking us quite some time to get everything how we want it, but we are making progress!

Jaxson is almost 17 months old!  Can you believe it?  He is such a big boy.  He is all boy and a little sweetheart at the same time.  It's so amazing and wonderful.  I had no idea being a Mom would be such a huge blessing. 

Hubby left for Hawaii yesterday for his awards trip for work.  Jaxson and I are here enjoying our Mom & Son time.  It's so nice to have some time alone with him, and some time to myself...to do things like update this blog!  haha!  I leave for Hawaii on Friday morning to join Hubby.  My precious parents are coming to stay here with Jaxson.  I am so thankful for them and I can't wait for them to have almost a whole week with their sweet grandson.

My work is stressful as could possibly be...but I'm doing well.  I feel like I am finally in my groove, a year after I started!  Hopefully that will continue :)

Now that we are in our home, have the internet again, and are getting settled, I promise to blog more often.  I miss you guys!

Packing, packing and more packing

I despise moving.  Really I do.  I used to love it.  When I was single and it was just me and Bandit against the world, I moved every time my lease was up.  I always figured, why not?  You only get to be young and single once!  I lived in The Heights area (near downtown), in The Woodlands, and then moved near my job on the Northwest side of town.  It was fun!  Now, moving an entire home, not so fun.  I just keep thinking of how exciting it will be to be in our new home!!!  That won't be ready for two more months.  UGH.

God is good.  He works everything out for us.

I am so incredibly grateful to my friend Missy that is letting us move into her townhome until our house is ready.  That is so gracious of her!  I am going over there on Wednesday so she can teach me everything I need to know and start getting settled.

This is what my house looks like right now.  A HOT MESS. 

It stresses me out.

It's pretty easy to pack up the things we are not going to need until we are in the new house.  The anxiety comes in when I determine what to put into storage and what to pack to take to Missy's house.  I guess there isn't anything that we couldn't buy if we needed it, right?

We are "supposed" to close on Friday, but the buyer's lender hasn't confirmed the funding yet, so it isn't totally finalized.  I promise you that I will do a post on this whole process and list out all the questions that I had.  I've never sold a home before, and man, there are lots of things to think about!

So, in order to not be stressed, I visit the new house.
